Zarah Hussain: Breath
I am delighted to announce that I have a solo exhibition of ‘Breath’ Paintings at the Grosvenor Gallery in London. Breath is my first solo-exhibition at the gallery. The show opens with a reception from 6 - 8pm on Wednesday, 6 July, and continues until Friday, 29 July 2022.
In these works, Zarah explores the principles of geometry and mathematics, to guide the viewer into a moment of deep contemplation and stillness. In their pairs, the paintings represent inhalation and exhalation. Many of these works were exhibited at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, USA in 2020/2021.
Another painting from this series is on display at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London from 21 June - 21 August. Her work was chosen for the prestigious annual exhibition by British artist Grayson Perry CBE RA.
